@@Philip-m8h Unfortunately Ray craft is no longer in production so parts and support is no longer. You just have to look around or search eBay for Ray craft things. RY craft boat forms to see if people may have what you need. It’s not a easy task.

@@user-fu7rk5fw2n The first thing I would change is the lower and upper crankshaft seals. This is an older motor sounds like and the seals are leaking by causing this issue. I’ve seen it many times before. Also, please checkout the reeds. One or more could be bent or even broken. Let me know.

@@TheHaggertonFamily Yes, sounds like you will have to run some wedges or trim tabs. I can put very little trim in my RFL before it starts to hop. I’ll be installing some trim tabs soon on mine.

@@TheHaggertonFamily In the Majek I can see 36 mph with 30 gallons of fuel and just me in the boat. The avg. with 3 in the boat is 31 mpg.

@@dustincribb8616 Running rich on the darker plugs and running lean on the lighter plugs. Have you rebuilt the carbs? Only use OEM kits. I’ve found that the cheaper ones one eBay and Amazon can cause reliability issues.

@@mtwz71 I have two spark plugs. It’s like somebody divided each one and half one dark side and one side on each plug.

@@dustincribb8616 Okay, are they same type plug and is the gap the same? Also, it appears if one side is dark and the other side is not. That make me think there’s a ignition or coil pack problem. Check the fire.

Sand it down pretty good to where there is not much factory coating left then mask off the areas you don’t want to gel coat and webbing on. Be sure to use wax on the final coat or the gel coat and webbing will remain tacky.

There’s many different ways you can go about the color. Gel coat is preferred but you can pant it also with product like Awlgrip. It will need to be sanded to a paint ready finish.

Good research on your part. Did you happen to look at the crank, rods? To my knowledge there is very little and I believe you found it in the jets and maybe carb bores.

@@mtwz71 I did not look at the crank. Buy from other research I've done on the difference is all in the carbs. The bottom and middle carb seem to be the same part but the top carb could be slightly different on the 30hp vs the 25hp. Probably in the bore as you stated. I think a nice set of dremel bits/polishing wheels and some patients would give a good result. Those boys over in Australia and New Zealand sure know how to tune them up and keep a secret on what they are doing.. I have found a good amount of awesome aftermarket parts for these motors. But I'm not willing to put that much $ into it when I could just buy a 50hp. But the sound a souped up 3 cylinder gives off just melts my heart.

@@lukelofgren4108 I know you can find a small cylinder hone fine cut and open bore of the cards up some like that. Porting the block and lighten flywheel makes a big difference in performance. Also cylinder head work.

@@mtwz71 I recently heard about lightening the flywheel and it makes sense! Almost seems too good to be true.

The orifice on the texture gun is very big, you would have to figure out on the webbing solution and the air pressure to get your desired effect. You’re looking for a problem with too much webbing solution, it will change the chemistry of the gelcoat, and I’m afraid it will not harden then you’ll have a big, sticky mess and ruined floors. Generally, you just put down one heavy coat of gelcoat. Too many layers then you run the risk of them not sticking or bonding together because of the wax solution that’s in it. One heavy coat has always been sufficient for many years of service.

Replace the chain and cam gear. These parts wear out and cause the problem you having.

@@philipthemechanic5782 There is a timing chain tensioner on side of the head. Most of them are spring loaded and need to be reset if you do remove the cam gear and timing chain. Some of the aftermarket timing chain tensioners use a manual bolt. I like those better. Look to see how to reset the time and chain tensioner and that will help you set the time and the chain tension.

It’s a great deal of work but we’ll worth it.
